The German defender was linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen throughout the summer with clubs like Bayern Munich and Barcelona reportedly interested in signing him. Tah had even agreed to personal terms with the Bavarian side and would have signed a five-year contract with them, however, the club failed to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga champions over the player’s transfer fee which was set at €30million (£25m/$33m).
According to Goal.com, a failed move to the Allianz Arena has affected Tah personally but the 28-year-old claimed that he was happy to continue playing under Xabi Alonso and is determined to achieve more success with the club in the 2024-25 campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Germany international said, “Of course, it’s exhausting when there’s such a back and forth. I don’t want to lie, but in the end, I accept it. And as I also shared on social media: I’m completely here with my head.”
